Exhibit E: The Spooning Situation

It was after round two. Or maybe it was three. Who knows.

We’re laying there, catching our breath, and I roll over, ready for the classic shoulder cuddle.

Then I feel it.

A gentle toot-back into my stomach.

I froze.

He said, “Hold me for a sec.”

Now listen, I believe men should feel safe.

I believe men should express emotions.

But there’s something about being asked to be big spoon by a grown man with a beard and a lion tattoo that threw me off.

He didn’t just ask to be held.

He wanted arms around him. Legs tucked.

Head under my chin like I was the masculine energy of the evening.

And what did I do?

I pulled the blanket up, kissed his neck, and held him like the broken baddie he was.

Because love is patient.

And apparently, so am I.
